The collection brings together photographs from across Switzerland, ranging from alpine landscapes and lakes to villages, cities and changing weather.
A long-running series
A photograph of four seasons,
But autumn is still amiss,
Leaves of green and flowers of spring,
Summer's warmth and winter's chill,
But autumn's colors are not there to thrill.
Where has the red and orange gone?
The yellow and the brown?
The hues of autumn, oh so dear,
Are missing from this photograph, I fear.
But perhaps they'll come back again,
When autumn rolls around,
And fill the missing space,
With their vibrant, colorful sound.
The original series showed the same tree in winter, spring and summer. Autumn was left out for a long time — catching this particular tree in the right autumn conditions proved difficult, so the series stayed at three seasons for years.
Project completed in October 2025
Autumn came, though it took its time,
Through summers gone and winters climbed,
Years of watching, waiting still,
For red to settle on the hill.
Then one October, there it stood,
The colour promised, understood —
The tree in fire, calm and true,
The fourth season, finally due.
Not lost, not missing, only late,
A moment patient trees create,
Now all four seasons share their frame,
The circle closed, the story's same.
The new autumn photograph completes the cycle with red foliage and the last green grass of the year. Together, the four photographs reveal the full cycle of the landscape around the same tree.
